Updated for WotLK Jan 2009
RAID SIGN-UPS & APPROVALS You must sign-up for Raids to go to Raids. Approvals for sign-ups are done on the websites calendar 24-48 hours prior to a raid. In order to improve your chances at a spot you should sign up early. However, approvals are not done solely on a first-come, first-serve basis. Class balance, gearing needs, and reliability are all considered.
It is the sole discretion of the Raid Leader who gets approved or wait listed.
RAID INVITES AND START TIME The raid start time is the time that the raid is buffed and ready for the first pull. Members who know in advance that they are going to be on at the last minute need to leave a late note on their signup with the time they will be on. Those members should be parked at the instance and ready to go when they login. The timetable for a raid is as follows:
- 30 minutes prior to raid start:
- 15 minutes prior to a raid start:
- Members should be online and at the instance.
- Replacements will be found for anyone who is not online unless they gave prior notice.
- Raid start:
- Zoned in, buffed and ready for the first pull.
RAID MEMBERSHIP/PROMOTION PROCESS
New members of Exquisite Pain who have not previously been raiding with us will be given Member rank for a trial period before being promoted to Raid Member. This trial period will last until class leads, officers and guild leaders feel you are a good fit for the guild. A good fit includes how you participate in raids, contribute as a member of the guild (in forums, on sign-ups, in chat...) and how you play your class. We don't expect you to be perfect but we expect you to work at improving and be open to feedback. If specific improvements are needed, you will be asked to make them.
Factors that will influence promotion and timing are raid performance, reliability, raid attendance, personality & interaction with other raid members, ability to take advice, public behavior (trade chat, forums ect).
This period can be 2-3 weeks or longer as it will take time to properly evaluate you. You also must attend at least 3 raids during the eval period to be approved for promotion.
Full Raid Membership benefits include priority in signup approvals and in loot priority (see LOOT section below).
RAID ATTENDANCE
Raid Members are expected to attend ~ 75% or more of scheduled 25 man raids. 10 man raids are not dkp and are not included in this requirement, they are optional. Raid Members who fall below 65% without prior notice/approval by EP Officer team may lose their Raid Member rank. They may still raid with us, but will no longer get first roll priority given to full Raid Members. This is to discourage people from picking and choosing and not supporting raid progression and gearing of newer members. We want to reward the people who contribute regularly to the success of the raid overall.
RAID ADDONS You are expected to use our Vent server and have the required raid addons installed and enabled. They are: Ventrilo Omen2 - Threat Meter - alt option is on curse.com Deadly Boss Mods - Raid Warnings
You may also be interested in other addons such as: Recount (Damage Meter)
RAID LENGTH A scheduled raid will last approx 4 hours. You are expected to be there for the entire raid if you sign-up. Raids that are at their max raid time will be given a vote on whether or not to continue. You will not be penalized if you can not stay past the designated 4 hours.
If there is a reason that you can't stay for the whole raid and you are aware of this when you sign-up then include a late note. If an emergency comes up then you must let the raid leader know ASAP.
LOOT Loot is set to Group Loot. If a trash mob is sparkling for you you may pick it up but only AFTER all mobs are dead. There will be NO COMBAT LOOTING. Bosses will only be looted by the Raid Leader. The following loot rules apply for the entire raid:

- If no one in the raid wants the item it will go to the Guild Bank for future use.
- All Uncommon ("Greens") and Rare ("Blues") Bind on Equip (BoE) gear drops will be greeded for the raid by rolling "Greed." If this item is an upgrade then you may roll "Need." These items will not affect your DKP and are not subject to roll priority rules.
- Recipes, Patterns, Enchants, Etc...
- All Bind on Pickup (BoP) Recipes, Patterns, Enchants, etc that create Bind on Equip (BoE) items will be allotted via a /random roll by Raid Members. The Raid Leader has the final say on Loot distribution.
RAID CHAT & VENT Please do not spam the raid channel with Damage Meters or other automated information. The raid channel is needed for raid-related communication.
Vent should be kept clear of chatter during explanations of pulls or boss fights.
RAID ETIQUETTE Everyone is welcome to offer input, just remember to appreciate that Raid Leaders will be busy and not every idea will get processed right away.
Do NOT go AFK without letting the Raid Leader know. Breaks will be given throughout the raid when appropriate.
PENALTIES These penalties are in effect due to the fact that raiding requires a time commitment from everyone. If members do not show up for a raid without notification it jeopardizes the raid. Members that go AFK for long periods of time also decrease the quality of a raid. 24 other people are relying on you to be there and be attentive. Repeat offenders will be wait listed for all raids and used as a backup, demoted to Member or ultimately removed from the guild. Penalties shall be enforced by the raid leader. - EP penalty for signing up for a raid but not showing up. -250 EP.
This penalty will not be enforced if you notify the raid leader 24 hours in advance or find a suitable replacement for your class function. - If you leave during a Raid for any reason other than an unavoidable problem you will suffer -250 EP.
- If you go AFK for a long period of time (more than 10 minutes) without letting the raid leader know you will suffer -150 EP.
